She has been working on the molecular mechanism of chicken body fat trait formation. The chicken body fat trait is a complex trait regulated by multiple genes, and how to identify the candidate genes affecting fat trait from many genes is the primary problem to resolve. To this end, she has used statistical genomics to identify important genes affecting chicken fat trait at the genome-wide level, further studied the function of these important genes and markers, and then used these genes or markers in broiler breeding. After years of efforts, she has formed her own stable research direction. She has presided over 15 various scientific research projects, including the two funds from the National Natural Science Foundation of China and sub-projects of the Five-Year Plan of National Key Research and Development Program of China.
She has published 48 research papers, including 33 SCIs, and 23 of them published in iScience, BMC Genomics, Poultry Science and other SCI journals as the first author and corresponding author. She applied for 10 national invention patents, and 6 of them have been authorized. She published two monographs and drafted two local standards of Heilongjiang Province. The research results obtained one award from Heilongjiang province. She got the title of "Youth Talent" and "Academic Backbone" from Northeast Agricultural University and the title of "Young Innovative Talent" and “Young Talent” of Postdoctoral from Heilongjiang Province.
